Purchased in in 2009 along with another island in The Exuma Cays area of the Bahamas, its understood he has built a tropical/Balinese-style home with several guest bungalow on the island.
Islands like this typically go for around $20-30 million dollars and the house being built is thought to have around 14,000-square-feet of space.
Its understood that Tyler Perry purchased the island for his 40th birthday and plans to use it as a home away from home when he wants to get away from it all.
Other celebrities who own islands in the area include Aga Khan and country singers Tim McGraw and Faith Hill who joined early arrivals Johnny Depp and David Copperfield.

When your the most successful African American filmmaker in history, you need somewhere to make your movies and what better place to build your studios than on an old Army Base.
Tyler Perry did just that, buying the Fort McPherson Army Base from the US Government which sits on 330 acres of open space and will be the largest film studio in the country.
The Studio will be able to accommodate numerous outside productions such as AMC’s “The Walking Dead” and several HBO Films and productions.

The property is understood to have been listed for sale in recent months after Tyler Perry decided to move on with him planning to build a new house on a newly acquired 1000 acre estate.
