BAM MARGERA EARLY LIFE

Bam Margera, whose birth name is Brandon Cole Margera, was born on September 28, 1979, in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

His grandfather gave him the nickname “Bam” (originally “Bam Bam”) at the age of three because he had a habit of running headfirst into walls. His school friends later shortened it to “Bam.”

He became interested in skateboarding as a teenager. He received his first video camera from his father in 1993 after enrolling in a digital media class.

With childhood friends like Chris Raab and Ryan Dunn, he began filming himself and his friends skateboarding and doing stunts. These videos eventually became the CKY video series.

Margera left high school in 1994, but was home-schooled by his mother and received his GED.

BAM MARGERA NET WORTH

Reports suggest that the Bam Margera net worth was at its height around $45 million during the peak of his career.

Margera purchased the West Chester, Pennsylvania, home approximately 20 years ago (from the time of a 2024 report) for $1.2 million.

This property, nicknamed “Castle Bam,” became famous for being featured on the television show Viva La Bam. It included a pool, a barn, a detached garage, and a skate park and BMX bike track that Margera constructed on the property.

Margera was known for owning and showcasing expensive sports cars, which were often featured on shows like Cribs.

Valued at approximately $370,000, Bam’s Lamborghini Murcielago was later sold, with Margera citing the desire to buy a rare electric guitar. It was also reportedly crashed at least once.

He also purchased a Lamborghini Gallardo, valued at around $200,000 and a Bentley Continental, valued at approximately $195,000 and several Hummers.

The primary sources of his income were his roles on television (including Jackass and Viva La Bam), his professional skateboarding career, film work and music.

LATER CAREER

The Viva La Bam show ran for five seasons and followed Margera and his crew as they performed stunts and missions, often involving his family.

Bam’s Unholy Union documented his engagement and wedding planning with his then-fiancée, Missy Rothstein.

Bam’s World Domination was a one-off special on Spike TV where Margera, Ryan Dunn, and skateboarder Tim O’Connor attempted to complete an obstacle course race in the Tough Guy Competition.

Bam’s Bad Ass Game Show was a television show where contestants performed stunts for money.

He co-wrote and directed the independent films Haggard, which was based on real events in the life of his friend Ryan Dunn, and Minghags.

Between 2006 and 2011, Bam starred in four feature Jackass films and remained a part of Team Element for Element Skateboards and appeared in numerous video games, including seven titles in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series.

He had a minor role as the “secret skater” in the video game remake Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. He was seen resuming skateboarding around 2017 while living in Spain, and later footage of him skateboarding has been released up to 2025.

Most recently, he has been featured in the Dern Brothers YouTube Channel that explores some of the old places where everyone grew up and some new footage of Bam’s house in Pennsylvania .
